Snow at Franklin Basin & a Water Picture

So we thought we would be camping at Franklin Basin for Mother's Day like we did last year . . .

Since there is still feet and feet of snow, I don't think that is going to happen!

I was going through our pictures on our camera and came across this cute picture of TJ I took the other night and thought that I would share it . . .

Birthday party, camping in the driveway and a friend from the past . . .

It was so nice to have decent weather this past weekend. On Saturday I took the boys to their cousins birthday party while Troy worked. Both Grandpa Lane and Grandpa Steve participated in the festivities . . . Hunter was a trooper and wore his hat for a bit . . .
Hunter and I . . .
TJ's hat didn't last but a minute . . .
TJ was thrilled to have his picture taken with me . . .
When Troy got home from work on Saturday, while the boys and I were still in Ogden, he got our 5th wheel out and started to get it ready for camping season! Troy asked if Hunter had been a good boy in Ogden because if so he had a surprise for him when we got home. Hunter couldn't wait to see what is surprise was . . .
He and dad had a camp out in the drive way! Hunter was in 7th heaven! Of course I didn't sleep much because Diesel was up half the night wondering where Jake was. Troy took Jake with him to the trailer since he is used to sleeping with Troy anyways. We don't know how Diesel is going to do camping, hopefully okay, time will tell I guess.

We are hoping to go mother's day weekend just the 4 of us with the dogs so I can see how Diesel does. I need to be prepared for Diesel's behavior before we go camping with my dad! HE HE HE!

Sunday was a great day too! We puttered out the yard for the first part of the day and then went to my parents house for my birthday dinner. Of course my cute mom made me a pound cake and it is yummy! I can only tell you all about it because I am stingy and don't share! It has a nice light crunchy crust on the outside and the center is nice and moist! Delicious! Thank you mom!!!

Now on to the friend from the past part of my title. I had a great friend Jenny, that I went to high school with, her step dad passed away last Thursday and the viewing was on Sunday. I was able to make it to the viewing and visit with Jenny for a bit and catch up. She has a darling family! Now we can keep in touch through our blogs. I didn't know her step dad very well, but I want to send my condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with her mom as well.

All in all it was a great weekend, I have the sun burnt arms to prove it! LOL! Good thing the boys got their dad's skin and they brown not turn red like me! Typical Utah weather, the boys will wear shorts and tank tops tomorrow and Wednesday and then it's going to snow on Thursday! Oh well before too long I will be bitchin' because it's too hot outside so I will just enjoy the sunshine when we can get it!

Kool-aid

Okay so this is really funny . . . Hunter is almost 4 1/2 years old, TJ is 18 months and today was the first time we made Kool-aid. I don't care for the stuff, never wanted the mess, plus I didn't want my kids drinking straight sugar.

Well my dear friend Shelly always makes kool-aid for her kids and my boys when we are over at her house. It wasn't until about a month that I found out that they make invisible colored kool-aid! I know it's probably been around forever, but like I said it's not something I wanted to buy at the grocery store. The boys have had the crystal light flavored drinks, so no they haven't gone completely without!

Troy and I are a sticklers with milk, the boys have to drink a glass at every meal. Well I made the mistake of buying chocolate milk, rather than just using the chocolate powder and now that is all the boys want. So since I work in Logan, I stopped at Gossners and bought a case of chocolate milk, in single servings!

So anyways back to the kool-aid story . . . the boys and I stopped at the grocery store on our way home tonight and I got the grocery shopping done for the weekend. I thought I would be brave and buy the invisible kool-aid. We got home and Hunter asked to make it, so I told him he had to get the 1 cup measuring cup out of the drawer while I got the pitcher. When I put the pitcher on the counter, he asked "what's that?" So sad! LOL! It's an old fashion juice pitcher where you pump the handle up and down to mix the juice.

Hunter had to get the sugar himself (1 cup for the pitcher another half a cup on the counter!) We added the package of kool-aid, cold water and he pumped away. I got the spiderman cup of course for Hunter and TJ a sippy cup . . . as soon as Hunter tasted it he goes "yuck mom that's not how Shelly makes it!" I just chuckled, but of course I had to call Shelly to see if I really had made the kool-aid wrong. Come to find out I just bought the wrong flavor! Kids, always keeping me laughing! TJ didn' care though, he loved that he got to leave the kitchen with his drink. Yes I am a stickler with that too! The boys have to keep their drinks in the kitchen and can only have water in the TV room. Mean Mean Mom that I am!

32 Today

It's hard to believe that I am 32 today. Where does the time go? Of course my cute mom was the first one to call this morning, she is such a great mom! Lots of family and friends called or emailed, thanks everyone!

Of course I had to wear one of my cute summer outfits that Troy and mom bought me. I was really hoping it would help out the weather situation, but not so much in Cache Valley since it snowed all damn day!

It was just another day at the office. I didn't advertise to anyone that it was my birthday, but word finally got out just after lunch, so my boss bought a yummy snickers chocolate cake and we shared it with the office. In the late afternoon I received a vase of flowers from LaRue. They are really cute and brightened up the office since the weather was so crappy outside!

My great friend Shelly had all of us over for dinner tonight. She made homemade lasagna with spinach and everything. It was delicious and the boys loved it too. She served yummy garlic bread and salad too. Keigh, her son, made a fun dessert. It was chocolate pudding on the bottom with smashed oreo cookies on top and gummy worms mixed in. It really was a nice night. To top it off Troy was able to get off at 6 and we got to spend the evening with him. Shelly and her family gave Troy and I a night out next Friday for dinner. She even included a sitter for the boys if we cared to use that too! Shelly's parents joined us for dinner as well and Glenda (Shelly's mom) gave me the cutest towels & hot pads to match our kitchen. We were way over due for towels and hot pads! They look great in our kitchen! It's nice to have such great friends!!!

I can't wait until Sunday. Every year since I was a little girl my mom has made me a homemade pound cake. Real butter, lots of sugar and a dozen eggs. It is so yummy. Troy is lucky if he gets one piece. She only makes it once a year, and boy is it worth it! I will let you know how delicious it is next week! LOL!

A fabulous lunch date, nice weather & Troy works nonstop

Today my cute friend Lisa came to Logan and took me to lunch at Fredrico's for my birthday. Best salad and pizza in town! YUMMY! It's a few days early, but today worked for both of us, so we took the time to meet. We had a great time, and even had enough time to return to her mom's so I could see cute Gracie. Boy how time flies, she is getting so big. Lisa spoils me way too much, she gave me picture coasters for our end tables, a new ice cream scoop and very cute (non breakable of course) ice cream sundae cups. They will be used for a nice treat with the boys! Thank you Lisa and I love you, you truly are a great friend!

Nothing new and eventful to report. The boys are doing great. Saturday was nice most of the day so Hunter spent the day outside with the neighbor boys. TJ hung out with me and it was nice because both of us slept most of the day. Kudos to Adella for keeping a watchful eye on Hunter.

Troy has been working non stop. They are working mandatory weekends, so he hasn't had a day off yet and has to work this weekend too. The money is sure great, but it would be nice to have him home at least one day a week. I just got used to him working days and last week and this week he has had to cover for the lead on swing shift. The boys love being home with their dad during the day. Troy misses being home every night as a family and I am just trying to keep everyone on schedule! LOL!

Birthday Weekend

This is a bit late, Hunter was a little emotional about my first draft because there were no pictures of him. Thank goodness Grandma Sue & Aunt Nic came to the rescue. My camera only had pictures of TJ.

We had a great weekend! O' Todd and Aunt Peggy arrived from Oregon to spend a few days with us. Hunter was so excited that they finally arrived! Along with my cute mom's birthday it was my godfather's 90th birthday. On Friday Michelle and Todd (extended cousins) opened up their home for all of us, it was really nice. Michelle's grandmother Nora, who is also 90, participated in the celebration. TJ flirted with her all night long. He liked to play peek a boo with the table cloth . . .

The boys had so much fun Friday night, that they crashed at Grandma's for a few hours while we stayed to visit. They look so innocent while they are sleeping!

On Saturday the boys went to Aunt Nic's for the afternoon. They played and played. Uncle Clint pushed them in the wheel barrow, they got to help plant the veggie garden, ride bikes and just enjoyed the nice weather. They were having so much fun that Aunt Nic only got pictures of lunch! LOL!

While the boys were enjoying themselves, the party continued for Uncle Sam (my godfather). He is the last one left of the older generation of my mom's family so we cherish every minute we have! Here is a picture of Troy and I, along with my parents and Uncle Sam . . .
Not sure why I always end up front and center, oh well! Maybe one day I will be skinny! Good thing my hubby loves me just the way I am!!!

On Sunday the weather couldn't have been nicer. We had a BBQ at my parent's house for mom's birthday. All the cousins got to play outside and enjoy the sunshine. My mom has been wanting a new pair of Sketchers for work, so that's what we got her and she loved them! Unfortunately the weekend had to come to an end and so did the nice weather. Hopefully before June it will stop snowing!

I've Been Tagged . . .

My cute friend Lisa tagged me and it is a questionaire about Troy...

How long have you been together? Going on 11 years this September.
How long did you date? 11 months
How old is he? 37
Who said ‘I love you’ first? I did; I tried patiently waiting for him, but I couldn't wait anymore so I did!
Who is taller? Troy, by only an inch
Who is smarter? I would say it's a tie; Troy is very smart, but doesn't always get the credit he deserves and of course he can do anything he sets his mind to!
Who does the laundry? Mostly me, but every once in a while Troy will help (ie when I had knee surgery or when I was sick with the flu)
Who does the dishes? 90% of the time it's me. Troy knows how to load the dishwasher, he just chooses to forget! LOL! Troy helps when it's a late swim night and the kids have to be bathed too.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Troy, it's closer to the door and I don't like sleeping by the door
Who pays the bills? Me.
Who mows the lawn? Most of the time it's Troy, but if we team up on the yard together on a Saturday, I mow and he trims.
Who cooks dinner? Now that Troy is on days and home every night, he cooks dinner. He is a much better cook than I am.
Who is more stubborn? Me by far!
Who kissed who first? I think Troy did.
Who asked who out? Troy's mom told my dad at the Weber County Fair that Troy would like to go out with me. So the next night we were suppose to be introduced by our parents, but his mom left the fair early. Troy was brave enough to come and meet me anyways. We have been together ever since. Hook, line and sinker!!!!
Who proposed? Troy; he can't keep a secret for nothing. He had picked up my ring that afternoon and I was in the bathroom getting ready for school (I attended college at night) and he proposed!
Who is more sensitive? I would have to say me

That about sums it up... Oh, and if you are reading this honey..I love you!

I am tagging....Shawn, Carolyn and Jenny!

A great day with my cute mom . . .

This past Saturday my mom and I went shopping for our birthdays. We had a fabulous time. It was just the two of us, I didn't have the boys in toe which was really nice! We got new summer clothes for work . . . really cute capri pants and shirts to match. Then we had to have shoes too! LOL! My favorite are Born shoes. I never have to break them in, they automatically mold to my feet.

These are what I got . . .

Photobucket

They are the Carlisle. They are like wearing slippers, it's wonderful! I got them in brown too! I am set for Summer now. It just needs to warm up damn it!

Flying kites & TJ's first haircut

Here are a few more pictures I took on Easter Sunday . . .

Dad getting TJ's kite ready . . .

Hunter flying his kite . . .
Grandma Rue flying a kite too . . .
TJ is starting to get the hang of his 4 wheeler that Santa brought him . . .
We decided to cut TJ's curls off that you see in the above picture. I loved the curls, but it wasn't worth the fight in the mornings to comb his tangle tails as Hunter's calls them! Kellie has been cutting our families hair for years so she got the honors . . .

Here we go . . .

Nope TJ isn't liking this too much . . .
So we try sitting with Dad, no cape and a sucker . . .
That only works for a second . . .

Finally 3 times in the chair, and 45 minutes later, TJ has a new do . . .

Kudos to Kellie for her patience, we love you!!!!

Hunter boy got a hair cut too to get ready for summer . . .
