A night of grocery shopping . . .

It finally worked out that I was able to go with Lisa grocery shopping at Smith's last night. She helped me save $62 bucks, it was fabulous! I have kinda slacked off the last few months with my coupons, but going to really try to stay on top of things and go with Lisa once or twice a month. Of course once I drop her off, she sends home 2 more large grocery sacks full of treats for Troy and the boys from the Johnson grocery store she has in her basement. Lisa you have a big heart and I love you!

After our 3 hours at the grocery store we decided to hit McDonald's for an ice cream cone for the ride home. While driving home on main street in Brigham, I get pulled over. I realized when I pulled out of McDonald's I was speeding and before the cop pulled me over I slowed down, but of course it was too late. It took me a minute to pull over since the movie theater was packed and being main street there wasn't much room to pull off the side of the road.

Now once I get nervous I start to talk really fast! The officer is like "first you need to calm down and take a deep breath." Then Lisa and I just started to laugh. The officer then proceeded to tell me they were looking for alcohol. I told him we had ice water and diet coke on the rocks would he like to smell or have a taste. By that time back up had shown up and a lady officer was shining a flashlight in my truck searching for booze. I told the cop that we had been grocery shopping and he was welcome to look. Good thing I didn't stock up on beer for Troy! LOL!

After he took my registration and drivers license I rolled up my window so Lisa and I could continue talking and enjoy our ice cream cones. I didn't notice him coming back so he had to tap on the window and scared the shit out of me, I got ice cream on my nose! I didn't get a ticket thank goodness, he just told us to be safe and slow down. Lisa and I laughed all the way! Never a dull moment when the two of us are together.

A night out with friends . . .

Last Saturday a group of us from high school met for dinner and then went to Rumors, a club in Ogden for drinks and dancing. It was so fun to see everyone again. Of course I took the heat for not drinking, but hey I had one long commute ahead of me, I don't take any chances when it comes to that stuff! The teasing was all done in fun. DeWayne was nice enough to text me at 1:30 in the morning to let me know that everyone was home safely, some things with me never change! Thanks DeWayne!

I feel really old though because I didn't know one song at Rumors. I like my cousin Nichole's excuse, it's because I am married to a redneck cowboy and we just listen to country music! LOL! I still had a great time though. Rochelle and I manned the table while everyone else got their grove on!DeWayne hasn't changed in 15 years! Always taking care of us and making sure everyone is having a good time!
I love Cami Jo and Candice. It was great to see them both again the other night!AWWW . . . Josh and Rochelle, the cute happy couple! Josh was just sucking up for his comments at dinner . . . being married out of convenience. It wasn't meant how it sounded but it was sure fun giving him grief for it all night long!
Not quite sure what is going on here, but thought it was a funny picture. Nice expression guys!
Here are all of us girls, left to right: myself, Rochelle, Cami Jo, Carrie, Candice and Laura.
It was a fun night out and I look forward to the next outing! Thanks for the pictures Carrie, good thing you always have your camera!

TJ's first ear infection . . .

TJ has been recouping from an ear infection, the poor little guy. Tuesday night about 9pm he woke up just a screaming! When I went into his room he was holding the side of his head and said that it hurt. TJ is still in the race car toddler bed so my first thought was he rolled over and hit the side of the bed. I cuddled him for a minute, tucked him in and he was out. Not 15 minutes later the screaming started again. That's when I knew it was something more. So from 9pm to 2am TJ and I were up every 20 minutes trying to make him feel better. Nothing worked, not snuggling, not Tylenol, not even a warm wash cloth.

Just before 11 the poor kid threw up everywhere! I put him in a warm bath and got his favorite blanket in the washer. He was devastated that he couldn't have his blanket back right away, but once I gave him my fleece blue blanket (yes the same one I have had since High School! LOL!) he was content for a bit. Of course once his was washed and dried I put his blanket on his bed so when he woke in the morning he would have it.

TJ and I headed to Logan first thing Wednesday for his doctor's appointment. It was confirmed TJ had an ear infection. Not bad to be two and just having his first ear infection. Since Troy was sleeping after all working night, Hunter was a pre-school I decided to take TJ to work with me for a bit. He was a trooper. I brought the DVD player so he watched Horton Hears a Who and CARS. We had lunch in the breakroom and a friend here at work even bought TJ a monster truck toy that she saw while getting gas! He was pampered all day! As you can tell from the picture below, it's hard work spending the day with mommy at work. LOL!

TJ slept for almost two hours that afternoon while I worked. Troy called while TJ was napping and I couldn't see any point in waking him up just to meet Troy so instead of being at work with me for just a few hours, it ended up being all day. Glad I have good bosses, they would rather me bring in my two year old, than work from home. LOL!

Monster Jam for Valentines Day . . .

Troy got this past weekend off since he moved to nights this week so I decided to get the boys Monster Jam tickets for Valentines day. Best money I have spent in a long time!
When we first arrived the trucks were just driving into the arena to get ready for the show, TJ first noticed them on the big TV while enjoying cotton candy & Hunter was just a giggling . . .
We had the camera ready once the big trucks started the show. This first one is for you Jamie. . . The boys didn't want to wear the ear plugs, but when the big trucks came out I made them put them in, this is Hunter being not so happy with me!
TJ didn't know what to think, he sat on either mine or Troy's lap when the trucks came out. He talks non stop about it now so I know he had a great time! I was a bit excited too! LOL!
Hunter could hear the motorcyles, oh I mean dirt bikes, as Hunter keeps reminding me, but he couldn't see them . . .
But boy once they game out he loved it!
TJ thought the dirt bikes were pretty cool and kept making noises with his mouth! It was very funny and dang cute!
TJ loved that the cotton candy, he ate it threw the whole show! LOL!
We have decided we would like to go to the motorcross in April when they come. What a fun birthday for me, a day with my boys watching motorcycles!

Enjoying our Saturday as a family . . .

Since Troy had the day off we decided to head to Ogden for the day. The first of December was the last time we saw Kellie. We headed to her shop for haircuts. Kellie of course has to spoil the boys with colored gel. LOL!
After our haircuts we headed to grandma and grandpa's house for the afternoon. My sister and family gave Grandpa a digital frame for Christmas so Troy, I and the boys bought a memory card for his birthday and loaded 200 pictures of the grandkids for him to enjoy. Easiest and most enjoyed gift we have given dad in years! It has been nice to spend the day as a family!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I just wanted to take a minute and wish my cute dad a very happy birthday!

Dad, you have taught me alot in my life, even more so now that I am a mom, you have always been there when I needed. We don't always see eye to eye and have bumped heads a few times, but I want you to know that I love you so much! You are so good to Troy too. He loves and respects you very much.

Our boys are very lucky to have you as their Grandpa! They think the world of you and love you tons!
Dad is always telling the boys "no whining at Grandpa's" so for Christmas I had the perfect sign made!
I think it is so cute how TJ calls my dad . . . Grumpa, TJ couldn't have given him a better name. From the scowl on their faces you can see it's a family trait. LOL!Happy Birthday dad! Sorry we won't see you for your special day, but we look forward to spending some time with you and mom this weekend! Have a great day!!!!
