Easter Holiday & It Always Happens in 3 . . .

We had a great weekend! I spent Friday with the boys. A crane was delivered to the new job site at my work and Hunter thought that was pretty cool. He wasn't really happy though when I told him he couldn't go for a ride.
On Saturday we went to Aunt Kari's and colored Easter eggs, had an Easter egg hunt and a BBQ. The boys had a great time. Below are some pictures of our fun filled day . . .
Mom and TJ (notice how dirty my fingers are? YUCK!)

Needless to say we had a great time on Saturday! The Easter bunny came to visit Sunday morning and left the boys lots of treats too! Spider Man kite's were the gift for Hunter this year, he got 3 of them! To boot they were all different designs so that was nice. TJ's got a very cute Elmo one too. Grandma Rue came to visit and Hunter had a great time putting together his Spider Man puzzle with grandma and flying his new Spider Man kites. Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sue came Sunday afternoon for dinner and flew kites with the boys too. It was a really great weekend.

On Monday we got a text from Trav's mom, they were at the dentist . . .

He was helping his step-dad and got popped in the mouth with a door. OUCH! He is doing great, his teeth have been temporarily fixed. We talked to him yesterday and he was feeling great, not in a lot of pain and is able to eat.

Last week TJ and the other day care kids were at the park playing when TJ got brave enough to climb up the stairs to go down the slide. He slipped and cut his cheek on the edge of one of the steps. You can still see the small cut on his right cheek below.

Then yesterday I got a call from Jenny, our daycare provider, and poor Hunter boy got his fingers slammed in a door by accident by another little boy. No broken fingers thank goodness, just some very bruised fingers. The skin was scraped as well on two of his fingers, so he tucks it like a broken wing and doesn't do much with his left hand. Spider Man bandaids seem to help! So needless to say it's been a little traumatic at our house the last few days!

Easter Weekend

Well today Troy started his new shift. It wasn't too bad this morning getting the boys ready, but of course I had their dad's help which was really nice. Troy had to work his normal shift last night and didn't get home until 11:00pm so he went in at 7am. Monday will be the big challenge because Troy has to be to work by 5:30 and I will be on my own. LOL! It will be fine, it will just take the boys a few days to adjust to the new time. They are used to sleeping until 8:30 or 9 everyday so to be up by 6:30 is quite a shock.

Today is my Friday. Our daycare provider has obligations tomorrow so I get to spend the day with the boys. HURRAY!!! It will be nice to have three days off, and it's a holiday weekend to boot. We are going to a friend's house on Saturday for a BBQ and the kids get to color eggs for Easter. Hunter boy remember's last year and is really excited. TJ will be fun this year too since he is old enough to color eggs too! Hunter is a little disappointed that he cannot wear shorts and a tank top. I told him if it was warm enough we might be able to sneak some shorts, but it will be awhile before he can wear his tank tops.

On my way to work today, I was stopped at a stop light and notice that diesel fuel was $4.07 a gallon here in Logan! OUCH! We might as well sell our big truck and get a gas engine at these prices. Troy and I remember six years ago when we first got the truck $35 would fill the truck, now it's over a $100 to fill when it's on "e". CRAZY!

Well I hope everyone has a fabulous Easter weekend and I look forward to updating everyone about our fun filled weekend! Love to all!!!

Kudos to Hunter!

Hunter has made it 7 days sleeping in he own bed. During the holidays he got pretty sick and was throwing up alot so he just slept in a make shift bed by ours on the floor. Well once he got better, we have struggled and struggled to get him to say in his own bed.

We borrowed the movie Transformers from a family member and Hunter loved it. So as an incentive I bought the movie and put in on the fridge. I was hoping for 7 days in a row, but that didn't happen, but in the last 2 weeks Hunter has slept in his own bed 7 nights, the last 3 being in a row this week! Hopefully we are on the right track and this pattern will contine.

He asked last night when can he start sleeping with TJ. Our plan was to get bunk beds for Christmas and turn TJ's room into a play room, but we might do it sooner.

We know how the joy of teaching TJ to sleep in a big boy bed because I am ready to put the crib away. I will keep you posted on that progress! Have a great day!!!

Our first official post . . .

Well I finally decided to create a blog on our family! This is my first shot at this so be patient, I am still learning!

The boys are doing great. Hunter is on Spring break this week and is really upset that he only got to go to school one day this week instead of three. He has to call Grandma Sue nightly with an update. He knows her number front to back. Before he can hit the green button he has to read the numbers to me, just so I know he isn't calling China or something! I am working on grandpa’s number too, but at least he has grandma’s number memorized. He also knows Troy's number, he calls his dad every night to say good night. That will change here soon because Troy is going to start working days. We won't know what to do having him home every night and on the weekends too! After 10 years we will be working the same shift, will be interesting that's for sure!!!

Hunter can count to 50, spell his name (almost the last name too!) and can count from 10 backwards to 1. I take the boys swimming two nights a week and they love it. Hunter has come a long ways since we first started. He will wear his life jacket and will play in the water all by himself and realizes he isn’t going to drown. He really likes the deep end too, but they won’t let him have his life jacket past the 5 ft section so I take him there a few times. He has walked out on the diving board but isn’t ready to jump yet with me out there to catch him, but I think that will come. TJ is fun at the pool too, I put him in a small tube and walk laps while Hunter plays. There are two other families that go with us so they are very helpful when I need it. TJ loves to splash and no longer freaks out when I take him under water for a second. We only go for about an hour, but it’s exercise for all of us and it’s fun for the boys. It will be nice when Troy can join us too in a few weeks.

TJ is growing up so fast, I can't believe he will be 18 months old next month. He is talking more and more each day. He is always asking to "go". He loves to play peek-a-boo and go vroom vroom with the trucks through the house. He knows where his eyes, nose and ears are. When I ask him where his belly button is, he looks down his shirt and laughs. We have put him up to the table and got rid of his high chair and he just thinks that is pretty dang neat! He asks to "touch" everything. My mom has bear candles in her kitchen and those are TJ's favorite, he even makes a blowing sound when he puts them to his mouth, it's really cute!

We have all adjusted to Diesel I think. For those of you who don't know . . . Troy brought home a nine month old St. Bernard the Saturday before Christmas and we have all had some adjusting to do! Yesterday, March 17th was his first birthday!

Diesel got sick a few weeks ago so that was trying to figure it all out, but it was something simple, he had worms. He was losing his hair in clumps, which was very messy in the house and sent me over the edge so we had him buzzed and it looks much better. He is much better in the house for me than for Troy. I don’t take his crap and put him in his place. So now I can have him in the house and even have food on the counter and he stays out of the kitchen most days. At night he just lays at the top of stairs like a good dog, but boy watch out the second Troy walks through that door. He thinks it’s play time! Kinda funny that he is so good for me, usually it’s the other way around. Jake has adjusted pretty good. I think it’s funny that Diesel has given him a taste of his own medicine. Jake is still the Alpha dog of the house. Charli cannot see, only shadows, and Diesel respects that most of the time. He has tried to cross that line a few times and she just puts Diesel in his place.

Well I think that about covers it for now. I will try and update as often as I can. Love to all!!!
